Concentration Gradient Chips
In the channel network of the microfluidic chip, the fluid mainly flows in laminar flow. When two or more different reagents flow into the same channel, each reagent can maintain its own flow pattern and only appear on the interphase contact surface. Through the phenomenon of reaction or molecular diffusion, the concentration gradient formed has high stability and reproducibility. By changing the configuration design of the channel network and the initial liquid flow concentration and combination sequence, we can obtain a series of complex concentration gradients.
The microfluidic concentration gradient chip can simulate the external environment, establish the concentration gradient of chemical substances, and to study the cellular and individual response to changes in the external environment. Alfa Chemistry can provide microfluidic concentration gradient chips with different channel depths and widths according to customer needs. Please contact us for more information.
About Alfa Chemistry's Concentration Gradient Chips
Alfa Chemistry's concentration gradient chip is operated based on the principle of laminar diffusion. By changing the channel network configuration and initial solution concentration, it can generate linear and exponential concentration gradients. Customers use concentration gradient chips to simulate changes in the external environment, which can be applied to research fields, such as drug screening, model biochemotacticity, and toxicity evaluation. The materials of our concentration gradient chips include PMMA, glass, PDMS, etc.
The chip instructions are as follows:
- The inlet flow rate is less than 2 uL/min.
- The sample solution and buffer solution are diluted solutions with similar viscosities.
- When injecting the liquid, inject buffer into the channel to avoid bubbles in the channel.
Alfa Chemistry has established a standardized process and quality control system for mass production of microfluidic chip products and has developed a variety of concentration gradient chips with different types. We can tailor the microfluidic chip for you according to your needs. If you want to customize the chip, you need to provide the following parameters:
- Outlet flow
- Export concentration
- Channel section size
- The diffusion coefficient between the sample solution and the buffer solution
Application Field
Drug Screening
When the microfluidic concentration gradient chip is used for drug screening experiments, compared with the traditional multi-well plate technology, it eliminates the complicated operation of configuring and distributing various drug solutions of different concentrations and greatly simplifies the operation of the cell plate, drug application, washing, and labeling. This process can significantly reduce the consumption of cells and reagents while also enabling high-throughput selection.
Model Biological Chemotaxis
The microfluidic concentration gradient chip can freely control and generate the concentration gradient of chemical substances, and the time for forming the concentration gradient is short. The reproducibility of the provided experimental conditions is an advantageous tool for studying the model's chemotactic behavior.
Toxicity Assessment
The microfluidic concentration gradient chip can generate different chemical factor concentration gradients. Under the stimulation of different concentrations of chemical factors, the subject's biochemical response is used as a feedback signal for the toxicity assessment of the chemical factors.
